Rileys, Britain’s biggest snooker and pool hall operator, has placed a package of 24 leasehold sites on the market. The sites, which are spread across the country, are being marketed by Savills and are available individually or as a group. It is thought that the package includes the Rileys in Redhill, Surrey, and Southampton. The company, which is led by Maurice Kelly, went through a pre-pack administration in March 2009 that saw it acquired by Valiant Sports, a vehicle set up by existing management and investors. The deal left the company with over 120 clubs, while a further 30 sites were left with administrators and closed. Earlier this year, Essenden, the country’s largest ten pin bowling operator, placed an investment and development portfolio comprising five existing and former Rileys snooker and pool halls on the market. The portfolio, which is being marketed by Coffer Corporate Leisure, comprises clubs in Grays, Lewisham, Peterborough, Reading and Sheffield.
