The first package of sites from the Birmingham-based 44-strong Cal Management estate, which fell into administration last year, has been placed on the market. The three-strong package, which is being marketed by Colliers International, comprises the Spotted Cow in Stockton-on Tees, the Fellmonger in Leeds and the Millstone in Manchester. Zolfo Cooper was appointed administrator of the company, which still ran 44 managed and tenanted sites when it fell into administration on 30 September. Paul Hands, director at Colliers, said: “Zolfo Cooper continue to manage and run the Cal Management estate in order to stabilise and improve the business for the foreseeable future. A small number of sites have been placed on the market for sale where it is deemed this is the best course of action, and the estate will continue to be monitored and reviewed in conjunction with Colliers international licensed team to ascertain the best result for the creditors.” In November 2009, Cal Management bought nine former managed Suburban Style pubs, 18 former Panther Bar Company tenanted pubs and 17 tenanted pubs formerly owned by Classic Bar Holdings out of administration - Zolfo Cooper was also the administrator of those sites. Managing agent Asset Management Solutions Limited were appointed to run the outlets, with further sites expected to be placed for sale in the near future.
