Prezzo, the restaurant group led by Jonathan Kaye, is set to end the year strongly with the opening of eight new sites across its brands this month. The group, which opened three new Prezzo’s at the end of November Mill Hill, Beverley and Nottingham, will open further sites under its eponymous brand this month in Buckhurst Hill, Eltham, Uxbridge, Norwich, Manchester and Welwyn Garden City. The openings will take the brand close to the 160-site mark in total. The group will open its 13th site under its Mexican concept, Chimichanga, in Bishop’s Stortford, after securing the former Brasserie Gerard unit in the town. It will also open a third Caffe Uno in Braintree during the month. The group, which also operates the Ultimate Burger brand, has also secured a site in Southport for a new Prezzo opening next year. It has acquired the lease on the former Lloyds at 128 Lord Street in the town. Selsian acted on behalf of Prezzo and negotiated a new 20-year lease at a rent of £65,000 pax together with six months’ rent free for the 4,330 sq ft unit which is arranged over the basement, ground and first floors.
