Charles Wells has appointed David Revell, sales director at Weetabix who previously worked for brewer Scottish Courage, to the new role of commercial director for its brands division Wells & Young’s. Revell, who will be responsible for UK sales and marketing, takes the role on 27 February and will report to Wells & Young’s managing director Nigel McNally. Revell has also worked for well-known consumer brands such as Golden Wonder crisps and Homepride, Premier Food’s sauce range. McNally said: “The role of commercial director has been created to ensure processes across sales and marketing work as efficiently as possible and, with an integrated approach to commercial planning, drive sales and optimise profit. “At Wells and Young’s, we’re very serious about continuing the momentum of our successful brand performances and David joins us at a time of exciting development and growth. He’s worked in the tough environment of venture capital companies and has experience of big, established and emerging challenger brands so brings an understanding of the different sales and marketing strategies needed for products with different levels of support behind them.”
