Trade body Business in Sport & Leisure (BISL) has appointed former Gala Coral chief executive Dominic Harrison as its interim chief executive. Harrison, who has served as a non-executive director of the organisation, has also held senior roles at Ladbrokes and Bass. BISL chairman David Teasdale said of the appointment: “We are in new political times, with a coalition government still finding its way, and a tough recession. “It is vital for BISL to continue to represent its members – and the industry – effectively in this difficult environment.” The organisation is currently conducting several research projects and initiatives to strengthen the sport and leisure case to government.
