Uber has announced Rodrigo Arévalo, previously the company’s head of Latin America, as the new Uber Eats regional general manager Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Arévalo is credited with building Uber’s business in Latin America into one the fastest growing and most profitable region globally.
Since launching Uber Eats two years ago in Paris, it has expanded to more than 14 countries and 80 cities in the EMEA region.
Arévalo will be tasked competing with Deliveroo and Just Eat to become best food delivery player in EMEA.
He said: “Uber Eats is thriving in one of the most competitive markets globally for food delivery, having experienced tremendous growth over the past 18 months. I’m thrilled to be joining the EMEA team, and I can’t wait to lead the next stage of growth for our business as we double down on offering the best food delivery experience for our customers in the region.”
