Starbucks reported net revenues for the third quarter up 21% to $1.6bn (£910m). Net earnings for the 13 weeks ended 3 July increased by 29% to $126m from $98m in the same period last year. The news came as the group announced plans to open 1,800 new sites next year, up from this year’s target of 1,500 openings. Jim Donald, Starbucks’ president and chief executive, said: "We remain committed to building shareholder value by executing our strategy and realising the tremendous growth opportunities available to Starbucks on a global basis."
