Ballie Ballerson, the Imbiba-backed ball pit and cocktail bar concept, is looking at Manchester and Birmingham for its next move, with potential for one more venue in London.

Founder Wenny Armstrong told MCA after around five sites, the company would look to America, with Las Vegas a dream target.

Having expanded the Shoreditch to double its original size, and with Soho maturing “quicker than we thought”, Armstrong said regional expansion was the next priority.

She said while the ball pit was a pull for the typically 20-35-yer-old female demographic, the concept was essentially a cocktail bar, with nostalgic and experiential elements.

The Instagram friendly bar has playful cocktails, such as the Skittles pisco sours, and selfie backdrops, and translucent, lit up balls.

Wenny evolved the concept from a series of pop-ups she ran involving comic theatrical performances, going on to open a temporary site in Dalston which turned over more than £5m in a year.
