Wendy’s International, the third largest hamburger chain in the US, has reported a net profit of $29.2m (£14.3m) for its second quarter ending 1 July, against a loss of $29.1m for the same period in 2006. Revenue for the quarter was flat at $633m. The company, which is considering a sale, said that new menu items, the “That’s Right” advertising campaign and improving operations had driven the rise in profits during the quarter.
