Von Essen Hotels has launched a new interactive dining concept at one of the luxury hotels in its portfolio in Devon. The group has invested £200,000 in the Purple Carrot venture at the Lewtrenchard Manor near the edge of Dartmoor, which will give guests a personalised dining experience. Diners will be given a tour of the kitchen garden before being treated to a locally sourced menu, while watching the chefs cooking in the kitchen via flat screen TVs. Between courses, people will able to interact with the chefs via the Chefs Bar, which is an open window separating the dining room from the kitchen. Jason Hornbuckle, the hotel’s chef patron, said: “It has been a dream since becoming chef patron to establish Lewtrenchard Manor as a gastronomic destination in the South West and developing Purple Carrot has enabled us to demonstrate to our guests our dedication to offering a truly unique and unforgettable gourmet experience.”
