Former US president Bill Clinton and the American Heart Association announced a deal with Kraft Foods, Mars, Campbell’s Soup, Danone and PepsiCo to cut the fat, sugar and salt in snacks sold in US schools. Most foods will not be allowed to derive more than 35% of calories from fat and more than 10% from saturated fat. A limit of 35% for sugar content by weight will also be imposed.
