Ultimate Leisure, the Newcastle-based late-night operator, has announced the appointment of Stephane Nahum as a non-executive director. Nahum is currently a director of a number of different companies including the Wellington Pub Company, the Belgravia Property Company, and the Trans-World Group. He joins Ultimate as it plans to rollout its Prohibition cocktail bar brand across the UK. The company is looking to invest £10m a year opening new sites. Each new outlet costs about £1m to build. It has already signed up to a site in Bristol’s Harbourside development and is in negotiations over two sites in London’s financial district. It is looking for sites of between 4,000sq ft and 7,000sq ft, with outside trading space given the upcoming ban on smoking. Mark Jones, executive chairman, said the company thought there were up to 50 locations across the UK that were suitable for a Prohibition.
