The speed of the UK’s economic recovery increased slightly in the most recent quarter, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) up 0.5% in the three months to the end of September. It compares to growth of just 0.1% in Q2. Q3 growth was stimulated by strength in the services (Q3: +0.7%; Q2: +0.2%) and production (Q3: +0.5%; Q2: -1.2%) sectors. The worst performing sector was construction, where output fell 0.6% in Q3, against an increase of 1.1% in the previous quarter.
