It’s a further sign that social media is taking over the world. Because when busy commuters want a coffee as they head to work at the offices at the soon-to-be opened One New Change development near St Paul’s in London they will not even have to speak to a member of staff. No, tech savvy workers will be able to tweet ahead to order their cappuccino to go from Bea’s of Bloomsbury. The group, which launches its second site with the opening of One New Change, will be using a state of the art POS system that means tweets to @beas_bloomsbury will be directly added to the order queue. But the innovation does not stop there, on busier days Bea’s intends to have members of staff armed with iPads to take orders while customers line up and when they reach the head of the queue their order should be ready. Bea Vo, owner and founder, said: “This is all being designed from the ground up. I think it will be big.” Similar systems in the US have reportedly doubled coffee orders. The first Bea’s of Bloomsbury is situated on Theobald Street, London.
