Truman's has submitted a proposal to convert part of the Olympic site into a brewery, pub and visitor centre. Once based in Brick Lane, Truman’s was relaunched last year in Spitalfields' Elder Street. Truman's, which started life in 1666, was once the world's biggest brewery but the growing popularity in continental style lagers meant the brewery was closed in the 1980s.
