Interbrew UK is going on a free trade Stella Artois blitz.

It is targeting the sector in a two-month campaign to convince it of the "commercial sense" of stocking the premium lager which, says AC Nielsen, accounts for about one in three pints of premium lager sold in the UK.

Interbrew said only 22% of independent free trades stocked draught Stella Artois and nearly 29% of outlets nationally stocked the brand.

It plans a range of incentives for those stocking the lager. It is also shortening its new account opening procedure.
