Tommi’s Burger, the Iceland-based burger chain, plans to open up to five sites in London over the next couple of years, after making its debut in the capital in Marylebone at the start of last month. M&C Report understands that the group is looking for sites that are slightly off-pitch for its expansion in the capital and will also consider “exceptional” opportunities in Manchester and Leeds for its UK rollout. The group has appointed CWM to advise it on its UK expansion. The first Tommi's Burger Joint opened in April 2004 in Reykjavik, followed by four more in the Icelandic capital and one in Hafnarfirði. The company is led by Tommi Tomasson, who is credit in Iceland as the “man who brought burgers to the country”. He also opened a Hard Rock Cafe in Reykjavik in the 1987.
