The Tadcaster Pub Company is taking 13 of its tenants and lessees on holiday as a reward for increasing trade and turnover. Tenants and lessees will be able to choose from a selection of foreign holidays, as well as being given spending money, depending on how much they exceeded their sales targets by. This year more of the company's pubs have been awarded a free holiday than ever before, with 13 out of 27 eligible pubs getting a prize. The company's most successful outlet was the Colliery Inn at Hetton-le-hole, near Sunderland. Tenant Diane Pearson led the pub in exceeding its target by 38%, winning her a holiday in Thailand, Africa or the Caribbean, with £500 spending money. James Crawfurd-Porter, managing director, said: "Targets are agreed with business development managers at the start of the year and performance is reviewed on a monthly basis. Different levels of holiday are then awarded to outlets that finish the year over and above target."
