Mikael Jonsson, an ingredients expert and influential Swedish freelance food writer, has opened his first French fine dining restaurant in London, under the name Hedone. Jonsson signed a new 20-year lease at 301 Chiswick High Road on the former Ochre Lounge unit based on the busy high road in the heart of Chiswick. He re-opened the site earlier this month, after weeks of “stripping out” and refurbishing the former Indian restaurant. Salvatore Di Natale, of Cedar Dean Gilmarc, acted on behalf of the landlord in the acquisition of this property, said: “After much searching, we finally managed to secure a premises for him on the ‘less fashionable’ end of Chiswick High Rd, but this did not matter to him, as Mikael always maintained that he would open a ‘destination’ restaurant, and was confident would be a great success regardless of its location in London.”
