Jim Donald, who will become chief executive of Starbucks later this month, has said that China represents the company's biggest growth opportunity. He told the Reuters Food Summit: "The biggest opportunity, we think, on the horizon is China. We think that can probably be our biggest market." He also indicated that the company has plans to expand India, Brazil and Russia. The company also announced that its first store in the Republic of Ireland will open this summer in Dublin. Cliff Burrows, director of Starbucks Ireland, said: "We are excited to announce that our first store will be in Dublin and we are looking forward to becoming a part of this dynamic city with its vibrant café culture." The company has said it will then expand in response to demand after monitoring reaction to the Dublin store. Starbucks has commissioned architects to design 30 stores for the Irish launch of the coffee bar chain.
