Searcys, the upmarket restaurant and catering company, has announced that it has rebranded with a focus on the business and industry market. The company, which was acquired by the Alternative Hotel Group last June, will now be called Searcys 1847 to reflect the year it was founded. The group has been expanding its concessions business with the opening of the St Pancras Grand restaurant last week and the imminent launch of its second champagne bar at the Westfield shopping centre in October. Searcys is also set to reopen its refurbished restaurant at the Barbican Centre in London as Searcys Restaurant & Bar in the autumn. The group’s other operations include the restaurant at the top of the gherkin and outlets in the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal Opera House.
