Regent Inns, the troubled operator of Walkabout and Jongleurs, has appointed a new chief financial officer. Michael Foster, who joined the group in 2005 as financial controller, will step up to the role, replacing John Leslie, who was last month appointed chief executive officer. He has held a number of senior positions at a mix of consumer businesses, including BHS, Esporta, Scottish & Newcastle and Spirit Group. Bob Ivell, non-executive chairman, said: “We are delighted Mike is joining the Regent board where is considerable knowledge and experience of both the company and the sector will be a great asset.” Regent is understood to have appointed BDO Stoy Hayward to help it restructure its debts of £75m.
