Gordon Ramsay is to open a second restaurant in New York based on his Foxtrot Oscar venture in London, according to the New York Post. The chef told the newspaper that he was planning to launch a new casual dining outlet in the style of a café/bistro in the US. The restaurant would be similar to the Foxtrot Oscar site that Ramsay opened in Chelsea’s Royal Hospital Road at the beginning of this year, which serves classic British dishes. He nevertheless denied that the reason for opening a casual dining restaurant was a result of the credit crunch. Ramsay opened his first New York restaurant at the London NYC Hotel in November 2006, which was awarded two Michelin stars last autumn.
