Racing UK, the subscription-only horseracing channel, is due to broadcast on air the names of pubs that subscribe to the channel later this month, as part of a move by the channel to target pubs and hotels in the week of the Cheltenham Festival. More than 300 pubs currently subscribe to the channel. Simon Bazalgette, Racing UK chief executive, said: "We've been encouraged by the demand from pubs and hotels near racecourses and naming them during our live coverage is just a small thank you for their support." "The feedback we're getting is that Racing UK is proving to be a big draw for the afternoon trade." Commercial subscription to the channel costs £100 a month or £1,000 for the year. Pubs that subscribe to the channel are also being sent window stickers and point of sale promotion materials.
