Compass Group, which reports full-year results on Wednesday, is forecast to post an increase in profits from £365m to £379m. The Independent on Sunday says the world’s biggest catering company is expected to report operating profits of £506m and 11.3p of earnings per share, similar to last year. The newspaper says the company’s UK business has shown signs of stabilising after suffering from the Jamie Oliver-inspired backlash against unhealthy school meals. Goldman Sachs expects Mitchells & Butlers full-year pre-tax profits on Wednesday to come in at £206m and earnings per share of 29p. The Independent on Sunday says the pub group’s share price has been very strong leading up to the figures. Analysts say this is mainly because of bid speculation and positive trading and comments from other pub companies. Full-year pre-tax profits at Britvic are forecast to come in at £56m when the drinks group reports on Thursday. Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries, which reports its full-year results on Friday, is expected to announce a £10.9m increase in pre-tax profits to £101m. The Independent on Sunday says analysts will be keen to press the company on further potential acquisitions. However, there is speculation a share buyback might be on the cards instead.
