Mean Fiddler founder Vince Power, who has been behind dozens of bars, clubs and music events in the UK, will be presented with an honorary CBE by Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell later today (19 December). Power, who sold his remaining 35% stake in Mean Fiddler last year for £13m to Clear Channel Entertainment, is receiving the award in recognition of his valuable contribution to music. He set up the Vince Power Music Group in October 2005 to launch a new bar and club chain. His latest bar, At Proud, in north London, opened on 29 June earlier this year. The entrepreneur also acquired three of the five former Camel Bars of London for his fledgling group earlier this year, including sites in Victoria, Fulham and Mayfair.
