Several popular restaurant chains are considering stock market listings, despite difficult market conditions and weak investor appetite. Gaucho Grill, Tragus and EAT are looking towards the City, with Tragus, owner of Strada and Café Rouge, looking the most likely to tempt institutional investors. Noodle bar chain Wagamama recently cancelled plans for a £200m float after receiving approaches form other private equity houses that were set to yield more than an initial public offering (IPO).
