Soho House, one of London's most prestigious private clubs, is to "actively discourage" people over the age of 27 from joining. The club, on the site of a 1930s cinema in Greek Street, has also introduced a half-price membership scheme for younger people. Existing members include celebrities Nicole Kidman, 38, Madonna, 47, Hugh Grant, 45, Johnny Depp, 42, Robbie Williams, 32, and Zoe Ball, 35. Owner Nick Jones, himself 42, insisted there would not be an automatic ban on anybody born before 1979. He said it was all about ensuring Soho House "stays a happening and fresh venue".
