Lewis & Clarke, Steve Wilkins’ restaurant and bar chain, has opened its seventh site, in the City of London. The Gable, situated on Moorgate, features modern British cooking with average main courses priced at £11, and starters at £5. In addition to 2,800sq ft of trading space, the site also has a 1,300sq ft basement area, which has been converted into a wine bar called The Cellar. It features 85 wines - 45 of which are available by the glass - as well as a sandwich deli. Wilkins told M&C that initial trading at the site, which opened last Thursday, has been very encouraging. The Gable is the group’s seventh site, six of which are located in the City with one further site in London’s West End.
