Compass Group, the world's biggest caterer, said revenue growth accelerated in the third quarter, boosted by new business wins and a better retention of existing business. Compass, which feeds 386,000 people in over 50 countries and serves 4 billion meals each year, won contracts in the period with organisations including Oracle and the Gates Foundation in the United States and Harlequins rugby club. It reported organic revenue growth of 5.5% in the quarter compared with the same period the previous year, when revenue dropped by 2%. Compass said it expected organic revenue growth to be over 2.5% for the year as a whole. For the first nine months, organic revenues grew by 2%.
