The Home Office has announced the appointment of Baroness Ruth Henig as the new chairman of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Henig was previously president of the Association of Police Authorities, chair of the Lancashire Police Authority and a member of the National Criminal Justice Board. She will replace Robin Dahlberg who has been acting chair of the SIA and will start her role in January for a three year period. The Baroness was awarded a CBE for her services to policing in 2000 and was appointed as a deputy lieutenant for Lancashire in 2002.
