A study undertaken by one of the drinks sector's leading research firms has revealed the on-trade's "must stock" alcoholic drinks brands. Peroni Nastro Azzuro topped the CGA poll, published this week in the Morning Advertiser, on the back of volume growth of 29%. The Italian lager brand was followed by: Beck's Vier Russian Standard Vodka Heineken Premium Kopparberg Greene King IPA Caledonian Deuchars IPA Amstel Stella Artois 4% Sailor Jerry Spiced rum CGA arrived at the results after assessing each brand against a set criteria, which as well as sales growth (value and volume) and stocking policies also included marketing spend, promotional activity, customer brand perception, industry brand perception, category position and future trend analysis. The findings were based on a study of more than 5,700 outlets.
