Heaven and Hell chain boss Peter Clarke, who is just about to open his seventh nightclub, gives all his trainee managers a copy of If, the poem by Rudyard Kipling. He says he was inspired by the famous first line, "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs." Clarke is about to open his seventh nightclub and his Entrepreneurial Leisure which began with 50 staff now has 300. Turnover this year is expected to be £10m, with net profits of £1.1m. Besides developing a brand of Heaven and Hell drinks and floating on AIM, he also has plans to expand into clothing and a record label. The Sunday Times 18/07/04 (Business) page 3.14
