The owners of La Fattoria del Campiglione, one of Italy’s most successful restaurants, are to make their debut in the UK, after securing the former Tootsies unit in London’s Putney Wharf. The new venture called Caparossa will serve traditional Italian cuisine with meat source from “some of the best British farms”. The group, which also operates a site under a different name in Beijing, hope to grow their portfolio in the UK and internationally at a steady pace, with plans for a new site every 18 to 24 months. The first Caparossa will feature 85-covers internally and 50 externally. Guiseppe Aprea, managing director, said: “This project has been two years in the making and we hope to open our doors in the middle of November. We are really excited to be bringing the true taste of Italy to London.” Property advisor Selsian handled the deal on behalf of Caparossa.
