InBev is testing a 0.5% abv version of Stella Artois in the UK, reports the Morning Advertiser. The brewer has been trialling Stella Artois Low Alcohol in some Tesco outlets and has not ruled out launching the low-strength lager in the UK on-trade. A spokeswoman said: “If there is sufficient consumer demand, we will consider making it more widely available.” Stella Artois Low Alcohol is brewed in Belgium using the same ingredients as regular Stella Artois but a shorter fermentation process and lower temperatures are used to produce the lower abv. The lower strength brand is already sold elsewhere in Europe, including Belgium, the Czech Republic and France.
