Heineken UK has announced that Gayle Harrison, currently marketing manager of its Foster’s brand, will succeed Mark Given as its UK brand director, with effect from 6 January 2011. Harrison, who began her marketing career with L’Oreal, joined Heineken in 2002. She became marketing manager for Foster’s in 2008 where she helped in the development of the brand’s Good Call advertising campaign and this year’s launch of its premium bottled variant Foster’s Gold. Harrison takes over from Given, who is leaving Heineken to become head of sponsorship at O2. Stefan Orlowski, managing director, Heineken UK, said: “Gayle has an excellent record of building brands and marketing capability, both internationally and here in the UK. Her appointment will ensure a seamless transition and continued momentum on both Foster’s and John Smith’s.”
