Hardys & Hansons has bought two new pubs for £2.3m, one in Lancashire and one in Derbyshire. The Thatch & Thistle in Lancashire will operate under the company's pub/restaurant format, while the White Plough in Ikleston, Derbyshire, will be a community pub. Tim Bonham, managing director, told M&C Report that the company has also just secured a greenfield site in Shrewsbury for a new build pub/restaurant. The site, which was bought for an undisclosed sum, is expected to open in November. Bonham said that the company would continue to be acquisitive although no further deals could be announced. "We have a full time acquisitions manager who is talking to numerous people on numerous fronts at any one time," Bonham said. "This is a busy time."
