A combination of half-term holidays, the World Cup and good weather helped boost like-for-like sales at the UK’s top restaurants and pubs by 1.4% in June, according to a recent study. The monthly Coffer Peach Business Tracker also found that total sales for the month increased by 2.7% in the clutch of companies that it monitors. The main boost came mainly from the school half-term break, which fell in May last year and June this. As a result, the 16 major pub and restaurant groups participating in the Business Tracker had seen like-for-likes slip -1.2% in May, before recovering last month. The monthly figures are produced by Peach Factory in partnership with KPMG, UBS and the Coffer Group.
