FishWorks has reported net profits of £125,000 for the year to July. The company, which listed on AIM in June 2005, has also reported a 51% rise in sales, from £2.74m in 2004 to £4.13m in 2005. For the same period in 2004, FishWorks saw a loss of £520,000. FishWorks chairman, Tony Fisher said: "The substantial improvement has mainly been due to increased turnover following the opening of the site in Marylebone High Street, which has traded above expectations for its first 9 months of trading, and an increase in the gross margin across the group from 52% to 62%." Since its flotation, the company has opened an outlet on Upper Street, Islington, and a seafood bar in Knightsbridge’s Harvey Nichols. The company plans to have 19 outlets open by July 2008, and is planning to buy a fish and seafood supplier.
