The DoorGroup, operator of the steak restaurant Green Door Bar & Grill in London’s Gloucester Road, is to open an oyster bar and grill concept in the City in the autumn. The Door Oyster Bar & Grill on Cornhill features a bar area on the ground floor and a 90-cover mezzanine restaurant. The menu focuses on steaks from across the world. It has been created by executive chef John Murphy, formerly of west London restaurants Palm and Rules. A spokeswoman for DoorGroup that there were no plans at present to expand further but the company could consider new sites in the future. The company is owned by a private individual whose identity is undisclosed.
