Dinner in bed has taken on a whole new meaning at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Knightsbridge, London. Around 30 couples eat together lying on beds covered in rose petals in a large and opulent function room. The new Bedroom Boudoir nights are inspired by the success of Amsterdam's Supperclub restaurant and a sister venue which opened in Rome two years ago. But writer Tom Robbins says that while in Amsterdam there are near-naked poetry readings and the maitre d' wears a ra-ra skirt, things are a little different in London. He reports that the man on the next bed to him and his companion fell asleep after dinner and began gently snoring. The Observer 05/06/05 (Escape) page 10
