Demand for goat meat has soared ever since broadcaster Janet Street-Porter extolled its low-fat virtues on The F-Word, celebrity chef and restaurateur Gordon Ramsay’s Channel 4 programme.
The increased demand means there are not enough goats to slaughter.
Farmers specialising in British boer goats, reared specifically for the table, hope to increase stocks.
