Eating curries could help prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s, according to a study by Italian and American scientists. Research showed that curcumin oil, which is extracted from turmeric and found in all curries, enhances enzyme activity, protecting the brain. India, which produces and consumes most of the world’s turmeric, has much lower rates of Alzheimer’s than Western countries, as low at 1% of over 65 year-olds in some regions.
