A consortium, including Ryan Giggs, the Manchester United footballer, is understood to have approached the owners of No.5 Cavendish Square, with a c.£20m offer to acquire the West End private members’ club and restaurant, M&C Report has learnt. It is understood that the footballer was part of a consortium that included other Manchester United players, which had a deal in place for one of the capital’s most exclusive, late-night venues. However, it is thought that the deal has since collapsed. Opened at the end of 2002 by Anglo-Italian entrepreneur Jay Maggistro, No.5 is set over six floors and features bars, hotel rooms, a club, a restaurant and a roof terrace.
