Close Investments, a division of investment bank Close Brothers, has put its 10-strong Tenanted Inns Estates business up for sale. Fleurets, the property agent, is selling nine of the 10 freehold properties. They are available individually or in packages, with prices ranging from £560,000 to £1.2m. The portfolio is spread across the south of England from Herefordshire in the west to Sussex in the East. Chris Irving of Fleurets said: “Best described as classic English pubs, these are likely to suit individuals, investors or perhaps small managed chains.” Irving said that although four of the properties had licensees in place – typically on 20-year agreements – the pubs could be made available with vacant possession. Fleurets aims to conclude the process by the end of June. It is not clear why Close decided to sell the business. A 10th property, in Norwich, is being sold separately.
