Chinese Buffet, the Lancashire-based restaurant operator, plans to open 20 new sites over the next five years, including some under a new express format. The group, which was founded in 2005 by Paulo Hu, Peter Wu and David Wu, currently operates four sites across the Lancashire and Yorkshire, with plans to open further restaurants in Blackpool, Halifax and Warrington this year. According to the Manchester Evening News, the group plans to launch a national franchise model over the next three years, while also introducing its TCB Express format, which is aimed at the “food-on-the0move” market in central Manchester. The group invested £1m each on its last two openings in St Helens and Wakefield.
