The management of the Chicago Rib Shack has denied entering into any deal to sell the business or its leasehold interest. The company, which is led by entrepreneur Christian Arden and backed by Matterhorn Capital, said it was approached on “a regular basis” because of its prominent Knightsbridge SW1 location. In at statement CRS Leisure said: “The Chicago Rib Shack goes from strength to strength and continues to thrive as a business, serving the best ribs in town and superb cocktails. We are looking forward to a busy autumn and Christmas period and continue to take bookings as normal.” It had been believed that the company had received an approach by the Cipriani family in a bid to take C London, the celebrity favourite restaurant, to the site of the Chicago Rib Shack.
