Celtic Inns, the 60-strong pub group has acquired a pub in Winchester as part of an acquisitions drive on the south coast. The purchase of The Cricketers’ Inn coincides with the appointment of a regional manager to drive acquisitions in the area. Jim Hannon will cover the Hampshire region. Celtic has 40 pubs in South Wales and about 20 in England. The business, backed by Royal Bank of Scotland and Sand Aire Private Equity aims to build a 100-strong estate.
