The new $1.7bn Time Warner Centre (TWC) is set to house some of the most extravagant restaurants and the biggest egos in the culinary world. The TWC has already signed up Thomas Keller, Charlie Trotter and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The first restaurant to open is Masa, a sushi centre run by Masa Takayama who used to run a 10-seat restaurant in Beverly Hills where meals cost £165 a head. The restaurant does not have a menu and food is created from fish shipped from Japan that day. The next restaurant to open in the Centre is Thomas Keller’s Per Se, fitted out at a cost of £6.6.m.
