The International Obesity Task Force has called for fast-food outlets to be limited in deprived areas. Professor Philip James, chairman, slammed fast-food restaurants for promoting fatty, sugary and salt-loaded products onto the poorest sections of the community. His attack on fast-food outlets came after research compiled by the Department of Health Information Services found nearly 30% of young children in Britain’s poorest areas were obese.
